Plates in both volumes with edges stained, with light staining visible to fore-edge of volume 1 but not affecting the text. Light wear to spine head of vol. 2, with a bite out of volume 1 at foot.

Front board with an image stamped in blind on a panel of red leather. Some darkening to board edges, and faded at the spine, with a couple of scuffs to the leather. New endpapers, previous owner's rubber stamped name to first blank. Numbers in ink to rear endpapers, with the binder's ink signature to rear pate down at bottom corner with a slice of the paste-down replaced. Bound by Greg Pfaff, 1990. Text clean throughout and overall the book is in very good condition. Amateur rebind. This edition by The Chiswick Press is limited to 500 numbered copies, this being 458.
